This will download an OWH vanilla approved mod set (Stuff like REI’s minimap and capes) that is compatible with 1.5.1

So just what it sounds like, creative and pvp are up to date and all issues appear to be fixed.  Also we’re running a L4D2 server on a trial basis.  To join that open Left 4 Dead 2 in steam (You can add games from disk to steam, google it) and make sure you’re a part of “The OMGWTFHAX Community” Group. On the main menu on the bottom left it should list OWH’s group server.  Click it and hit join to start!

You can connect to PvP at pvp.omgwtfhax.info and to Creative at creative.omgwtfhax.info

I come to you today to tell you about big changes for our Classic server.

We recently moved the Classic server to our communities dedicated machine in Chicago, Illinois. This move has allowed us to increase the Classic servers player cap to 100 players, and devote more resources to it. What does all of that mean to you? Well besides the faster world loads and cuboiding, it means you need to change your bookmarks!

If you use WOM you will need to search for OMGWTFHAX and bookmark the servers new Play URL.

Why a different IP for pvp? This allows us to have more worlds, and more fun plugins to enhance your pvp experience!

“Worlds you say?” Yes, worlds! With the new release of our PVP server, we’ll be adding several new worlds with different styles of gameplay.

Factions – A gigantic forest, with a beautiful spawn. Leave the safezone, gather your friends together and create a faction. Build your base, and join forces to defeat the evils of your enemies. Conquer the world!

Free for All – The classic PVP world. No rules, no teams, no zoning. Run around and murder
everyone, attack the meager bases people manage to build, and build your personal arsenal! Beware though, your only protection is your skills of survival.

PVP Nether – Gather resources for potions, lava for traps, or netherbrick to beautify that fortress of yours! Attack others to steal their resources, then keep them locked away in your base.

This is just the beginning of our server-wide upgrade. Come join us and see all the great work that’s being done to make your experience here on OWH unforgettable!

This week, the final touches were put on the upper half of the Trade World MetroRail and I am proud to announce the upper portion is officially available for use! If you’re in Trade World and want to see some great shops, head towards the station for a great ride!

Don’t forget, there is a whole other half of the MetroRail to come underneath Trade, and I’m planning on having an auction event and building improvements throughout Trade World next week, so check back for more to come!

First I know we are all sad about supre leaving. I’m very excited to take over OWH and i have many many big plans.

My first goal is to bring back as many players as possible. So over the next few days we will be reaching out to many of the players we have lost with an invitation to come back.  We also have some big changes in store for the future. Some of the changes include the community team that Lowah26 is the head of. New worlds that will come out and LOTS MORE! While of course I would like to let the dust settle before making any major changes, I have already started to leave my mark on the server; by doing such things as raising the overall rating on chat to ‘PG’ which allows some light cussing!

I hope to see all of you around on the server

It has been some time since Ive written anything publicly on the site. I apologize for the lack of content, but there has been a great deal of internal drama that I did not want to damage the community by exposing. In short lets just say that I felt I was enabling people to ignore OWH by being here all the time doing everything. I hoped my absence would force a resolution. It has, though not the one I expected.

First things First: The Live server has been updated to Minecraft v1.3.2, although Factions is not yet working and so PvP world is temporarily disabled.

Now on to the information your all really here for.

As you have doubtless read by now; The creator of our Communities ‘Release’ Minecraft server, Danny ‘supre’ Johnson has decided to retire from an active role in OMGWTFHAX. Hes been giving the server his all for over 2 years now and has decided its now time he focus on his real life, education, etc etc etc. We have nothing but love for Danny and the amazing contributions he has made to OWH in his time here.

Taking over for Danny would be nearly impossible, but thankfully we have a dedicated team of people here at OWH. And none of us want to see the community die out because of the loss of one person, even one as valuable as Danny.

Nina ‘Massie100′ Lovett has elected to step up and take on primary Administrative and Financial duties relating to OMGWTFHAX. Most of you know Nina from spending time on our Live server, where she can be found for many hours every day. For those that do not know Nina yet, you will soon.

As for me, I am resuming my role as Developer for the community.

So this is how the dust settles… Things will be interesting for awhile. A new owner means a new direction. I for one cant wait to see whats in store for us as we move forward into the future.

OMGWTFHAX  is unfortunately no longer  under my management, billing or support.

This has been a decision that has been on my mind for sometime now and has really got to me. I’m afraid I can no longer just ignore it or even think things are going to change.

I’m sorting out backups and perhaps someone whose inspired enough to take over but i very doubt that will happen.

I’m so very sorry but we all have to grow up and move on.

This is just my time.

As most of you will have noticed by now Minecraft 1.3.1 launched about 30 minutes ago. For those of you wondering we were ready with a server for 1.3.1 something like 3 days ago. So for those of you that just cant wait to play 1.3.1 please connect your client to the server at dev.omgwtfhax.info .

Just like last update I have decided to leave the current server running v1.2.5 online and run the v1.3.1 server concurrently.

The effect appears to have been gradual (Not fire spread on, fire spread bugged).

However it occurred over several hours in some areas.

And the damage is quite extensive in some heavily traveled areas, or areas that remain loaded in memory at all times. I’ve spent 4 hours now digging through our hourly backups and have nailed it down to about 22:00 CST last night. Because of this we are forced to roll PvP and Player world maps back approximately 12 hours. The damage in other worlds is negligible and easily repaired (A survey of spawn and trade showed at best 5 blocks missing in each).

Meanwhile, I have learned that supre himself may have also been involved in the burning. This picture of him began circulating at about the same time the troubles were noticed:

…. with evidence like that surfacing… god only knows how far this strange burning has spread, or how far SK89‘s programming reaches. At this time neither of them is unavailable for comment…

At any rate… There will be rollback of upto 12 hours in Player and PvP worlds. As always when a rollback to our backups is required we apologize to any players who have built anything during this time.

The server should be back up and not whitelisted ‘soon’©2012 Raniy
